Our Board Policy re Nonresponsive/Inactive Abstract Reviewers

  • 1.  Our Board Policy re Nonresponsive/Inactive Abstract Reviewers

    Posted Aug 29, 2024 11:54 AM

Many of us abstract management professionals face non-responsive, inactive abstract reviewers. To this end, my association board established a policy for abstract reviewers who do not complete their abstract reviews. This policy language is included in the abstract review assignment email. Just sharing this to this community and hope you find this helpful.

"Serving as an abstract reviewer is a very important role in the development of the annual conference and we are counting on each reviewer to complete their assignments in a timely manner. If you are unable to complete all or part of your review assignment, please contact XYZ immediately. Starting with the 2021 conference, the ABC Board has established the policy that if a reviewer does not complete their review assignment or submit their reviews by the deadline without having contacted XYZ, their name will be removed from the reviewer list."
