  • 1.  Jumping right in with Sessionize question

    Hello!

    I'm in a micro association (2 FTE) and we struggle every year with this process.  So I'm looking for a new tool that is both user and budget friendly.

    Sessionize looks really handy.  Has anyone here had any experience with it?  I'm sandboxing it for the next week or so, but would love to hear feedback.

    I'm not familiar with sessionize or what aspect you are struggling with. A software that I would recommend that is cost friendly is OpenWater. We demoed them many times, and wanted to go with them, but ended up going with a more costly software that also did registration. I still really like OpenWaters capabilities and their prices are the cheapest I've seen around.

    Hi Belinda,

    I'm not familiar with Sessionize and therefore I can't comment on its functionality, etc. What issues are you having - system issues? Issues around submissions? Reviews?

    We use Conference Exchange and have been for the past 15 years. They handle submissions, reviews, scheduling, and they provide the online program schedule. We pay around 15k for their services. That can vary depending on your needs, processes, and system requirements.

    Hi,

     

    I'm also not familiar with Sessionize, but we use Oxford Abstracts – very affordable.  And you can use them for just abstract management or your full program – basically replacing the mobile app.  It will also take registrations if needed. 

     

    I am a staff of 3 – me and two PTEs.  We found it saved a ton of time for us.

    I know it's been a long time! Can you give me an idea of what you mean by cost-friendly? I have used OpenWater in the past for awards management, but I'm looking for scholarship and abstract management.

    Hi,

    I would add Oxford Abstracts - you can do basic abstract management for about $900.  You can also add stages (I think for $790) so that you can add a scholarship application to the same event and manage the two things (abstracts and scholarships) separately.

    You can also use them for your online conference program  (web based, but works great on a phone/tablet) as well as registration.  Although, I think since the pandemic, most of the abstract management systems extended to providing a program system as well.
