Description:

What we need from you:
We are still looking for at least 15 associations representing a diversity of industries and professions to deploy a common survey to up to 2,000 of their members this month, May 2016. ASAE will develop and administer the survey on your behalf. There is no cost to your organization to participate.

What's in it for your organization:
Aside from the valuable contribution you'll be making to the association industry: once data collection is complete, you will receive a customized analysis of your data benchmarked against the data from all participating associations. We are aiming for 30 or more participating associations.

More details:

The ASAE Foundation Research team is seeking to recruit a minimum of 15 more associations for the next phase of a large-scale study on the use of technology within associations.

As with other sectors of the economy, associations are facing significant challenges and opportunities as a result of transformational information technologies.  At a tactical level, technology is changing how associations meet their core mission, impacting areas such as: governance, conferences, educational delivery, member communication, relationship management, service delivery, social networking and methods for accessing content.  At a more strategic level, the technology-driven changes throughout society and business are influencing member expectations for associations in the 21st century; as an example, technology can minimize the role of chapters while creating national/global communities of interest.  Technology also opens the door to potential disruptors, such as for-profit enterprises using technology to replace traditional association functions such as education, networking and information delivery.

This next phase of the study will describe the state of readiness of the association sector from the member perspective.  It will inform technology leaders in the association sector about what members across a wide spectrum expect from their associations, how they interact using technology, how successful their associations are in meeting their needs, and their level of Technology Readiness.
