Description:

As association leaders, you understand that collecting, managing, and applying data is critical to the success of your organization. You also understand that securing information during a time of high profile data breaches and cyber-attacks can present new and unexpected challenges.

Similar to government and corporate entities, trade and professional associations manage the personally identifiable information of members, staff, and vendors. And just like these other institutions, associations have an obligation to protect this information, or risk being victims of cyber-attacks,

To that end, ASAE is conducting a series of focus groups on the topic of cybersecurity preparedness, and we invite association CEOs, CIOs, and top technology staff to participate.

Among other things, we’d like to explore how data security aligns with your organizational priorities, how levels of risk to data security are assessed, and the nature and scope of data security plans currently in place.  Outcomes of the focus groups will also inform ASAE about potential research opportunities, and areas where we can help associations more effectively face cybersecurity challenges.

Both in-person and virtual focus groups will take place September 19-21. All in-person groups will be held at ASAE Headquarters in Washington, DC (located at 1575 I Street NW, near McPherson Square Metro), and will last 90 minutes. Our findings will inform future research and contribute to Cybersecurity Month programs.
