Description: The CAE Item-Writing Committee is responsible for drafting proposed CAE items on an ongoing basis and coding each item to an appropriate reference. The Item Writing Committee is composed of 12 – 25 subject matter experts and is led by a chair that serves a one-year term. Each committee member is appointed for a one-year term and may be re-appointed. The committee meets in-person 3 times a year.

- Committee members (or their organizations) pay their own travel expenses to attend meetings. ASAE does not reimburse Board, Committee, or Council members for travel.
- New volunteers are required to attend the volunteer group’s kickoff meeting in order to serve. There is no virtual option for this meeting.
- Members can only serve on 1 (one) volunteer group (council, committee, ad-hoc) at a time.
