The Small-Staff Associations Advisory Committee (SSAAC) advocates for associations with 9 or fewer staff, regardless of budget size. It advises ASAE on enhancing programs and services to better support small-staff association members. 2025-2026 Work of the Group:
SSAAC plays a vital role by:
Identifying critical issues affecting associations and advising ASAE on enhancing programs and services for small-staff association members.
Collaborating with ASAE Learning staff to shape content and identify thought leaders for online seminars and other educational opportunities tailored to small-staff associations.
Advising on and curating effective practice resources for small-staff associations through various ASAE platforms, including The Sample Center online library, and the Small Staff Association Professionals Community in Collaborate.
Advocating for the integration of ASAE’s strategic goals within the small-staff association community, including promoting small-staff organization membership.
Recommending and supporting initiatives that foster a sense of community among small-staff association executives through social media, Collaborate, and other engagement channels.

Hybrid Winter Meeting- January/February 2025, exact date TBD
Regularly scheduled conference calls throughout the term- Bi-monthly
Eligibility Requirement:
Must maintain current membership with ASAE during the volunteer term
Be a part of a Small Staff Organization (9 staff and fewer)
5+ years of association management experience
Engaged in ASAE (volunteer, conference attendee, contributor, etc.)
Selection Process:
Not all applicants will be accepted for this committee. The selection committee comprises of the incoming volunteer chair, the incoming volunteer vice chair, the outgoing volunteer chair, and the ASAE executive staff liaison. The ASAE staff liaison plays a supporting role in this process. The following factors are reviewed in the selection process:

New volunteers are required to attend the volunteer group’s orientation and kickoff meeting to serve.
Council members (or their organizations) pay their travel expenses to attend meetings.
