National Capital Area Diversity & Inclusion Task Force

The National Capital Area Diversity & Inclusion Task Force works to promote a greater understanding of why supporting diversity within associations and fostering a culture of inclusion are a business imperative for the industry. The task force creates community within the national capital area association ecosystem around diversity & inclusion topics, helps identify ways to engage underrepresented groups in these topics, and recommends resources to increase the cultural competency of association professionals and staff within the national capital area.

The National Capital Area Diversity & Inclusion Task Force will:

1. Examine the demographic and socioeconomic composition of the region;
   
2. Develop targeted approach to increase diversity in the composition of association practitioners within the area;
   
3. Develop strategies to increase the involvement and participation of underrepresented groups within the National Capital Area Advisory Council and broader regional association community;
   
4. Explore opportunities and partnerships to increase diversity in the association workforce pipeline;
   
5. Review progress within the region to achieving identified Diversity & Inclusion goals;
   
6. Support ASAE’s Diversity & Inclusion Strategic Framework.
