Description:

ASAE is in the process of updating multiple websites and adding new public- and member-facing web platforms. All of these combine to form ASAE’s digital web presence.

We’re looking for volunteers who self-identify as persons with one or more disabilities, to review some of these new and updated web systems based on general criteria we will provide. You do not need to have any specialized web, technology, or association management skills, as we are seeking to assess the usability of these platforms by people of all skill levels and a variety of different disabilities. While ASAE respects the privacy of individuals who volunteer for this effort, we will ask that each reviewer indicate any assistive technology they use so that we can better understand any issues found and how to resolve them.

You’ll have the opportunity to provide feedback on one or more websites or web platforms, as you wish. Time commitment will be about 60 minutes for each review and feedback will be gathered in an online format.  All direction and guidance will be given via email. While reviewers will be asked to perform specific tasks and provide feedback on those tasks, open-ended, general feedback is also welcome. Due to various factors, ASAE will be the final decision maker about what changes are adopted for each reviewed website or web platform.

This feedback group will exist for approximately 12 months, beginning June 2025, and will review as many as 2 websites or web platforms per month, with each reviewer able to opt in or out each time.

Number of volunteers needed: Approximately 25

Time commitment: 60 minutes per review, with an estimated total per year of 12 or more hours. Additional time may be requested for any feedback needing clarification.

Qualifications: Anyone at any skill level who identifies as a person with disability, and who/or is willing to disclose any assistive technologies they utilize for accessing websites and web content
