The Advocacy Council charge:
• Provide oversight to ASAE’s government relations and policy work;
• Advise ASAE in how to improve programs and services for Government Relations & Advocacy members;
• Identify hot topic, perennial, and high-level issues to share/advise ASAE staff and Government Relations & Advocacy professionals, for potential session proposals, articles, and models and samples;
• Engage ASAE members in the Government Relations & Advocacy Community through a variety of in-person and online communication vehicles (e.g. ASAE Events, Member Meetups, Collaborate, Webinars, etc.)
Meetings: Meetings will be held virtually. There will also be opportunities to meet in-person
Application: All Advocacy Council members are required to participate in at least one subcommittee. The Advocacy Council currently has two subcommittees (Policy; and Content). Please indicate your subcommittee of interest in your application. Also answer the following questions: Which subcommittee would you be most interested in serving? - What areas of expertise will you bring to the group, e.g., government relations, communications, policy, legal, advocacy, social media? - Why are you interested in joining the Advocacy Council? - What would you like to achieve at the end of your first year?
Eligibility Requirements: Applicants must have tangible experience in government relations, public policy, lobbying, etc.
Number of Volunteers Needed: 5
