National Capital Area Operations Guide Task Force
Operating an association in the national capital area provides unique benefits and presents its own set of challenges. To stay successful and grow, associations must operate as cost-effectively as possible in one of the most expensive markets in the United States. The National Capital Area Operations Guide Task Force is charged with the responsibility to prepare an operations guide that defines local regions, identifies the challenges of operations specific to those regions (the cost of real estate, available labor, and local regulations), as well as the benefits endemic to those areas (meeting venues, points of interest, etc.). The operations guide will also address best-practice policies of the region (federal government, transportation, snow, as well as offer guidance and recommendations for association professionals operating in the area.
The National Capital Area Operations Guide Task Force will:
- Identify and define local regions within the national capital area;
- Determine the general cost of operations within the regions of the national capital area;
- Compare and contrast the benefits and challenges of operations within region;
- Offer recommendations for regional best-practice policies;
- Explore local regulatory benefits and incentives; and
- Profile associations operating within those regions.
