The International Associations Professionals Advisory Council (IAAC) supports association executives whose role in associations includes international activities and outreach. The role also includes support for the growing field of association management worldwide. The Council’s primary objectives: Serve in an advisory capacity to ASAE Provide member-led content, peer-to-peer engagement opportunities and educational offerings to meet the needs of practitioners and organizations working globally. Identify global association professionals and help bring their expertise to ASAE. Represent, connect with and engage the larger body of ASAE international association members. Meetings: We will host a virtual orientation for the council before the Kickoff meeting. Participation in this meeting is mandatory for new and returning council members. This group will meet quarterly beginning with a meeting scheduled as the virtual Kickoff meeting in August aligned closely with the ASAE Annual Meeting, as well as an additional mid-year meeting. Subsequent meetings will be up to the discretion of the leadership and council at large.

Selection Process:
We are seeking members with experience in global development and operations. Not all applicants will be accepted for this committee. The selection committee is comprised of the incoming volunteer chair, the incoming volunteer vice chair, the outgoing volunteer chair, and the ASAE executive staff liaison. The ASAE staff liaison plays a supporting role in this process. The incoming chair of the ASAE Board provides final approval of volunteers.
Additional Information:
New volunteers are required to attend the volunteer group’s orientation in order to serve.
Council members (or their organizations) pay their own travel expenses to attend meetings.
