ASAE is updating our functional area benchmarking reports. The reports were previously known as Benchmarking in Association Management or Policies and Procedures in Association Management.
This report digs into benchmarks for all areas of association management, including: Membership, Component Relations, Governance, Marketing, Communications, Publishing/Editorial, PR, Public Policy, Certification, Learning/PD, Conventions/Expo/Meetings, HR, Finance, Fundraising, Research and IT. We also want to add additional topic areas, like Conscious Inclusion/DEIA, Online Communities, Member Engagement, Data Analytics, Career Development/Workforce and probably other topics we haven’t even thought of, but I hope you’ll bring to our attention!
The surveys were last conducted in 2018/2019 and obviously need to be refreshed. We are looking for volunteers with expertise in all areas of association management to review the previous survey(s) and offer ideas for edits/new questions/removing questions/etc. We will ask for ideas on new topic areas and/or specific items you’d like to see benchmarked.
You’ll have the opportunity to provide feedback on one or as many functional areas as you wish. Time commitment will be about 10-20 minutes for each functional area. The feedback will be gathered in an online format. We’ll have a kickoff virtual call that will be recorded, but the work will be done at your own pace, mostly through surveys and emails.
We will begin this project in late September/early October and you’ll have one month to submit your feedback.
