According to a Gallup poll (July 2017), only 20% of Americans approve of Congress. Low approval numbers and the paralyzing bipartisanship in Congress mean that it's a challenge to move national policy forward. However, Capitol Hill is not the only game in town. In this D.C. Swap lunch program, an association government relations veteran discusses how stretching your association's GR efforts beyond D.C. will help magnify all your association's public policy outcomes.
Heidi Ann Ecker, Senior Director, Government Affairs and Grassroots Programs at the National Association of Chain Drug Store, will discuss how grasstops campaigns and in-district tours can establish policymaker relationships and move your GR agenda forward. Through a case study, she will illustrate how her in-district activities program successfully organized almost 650 congressional activities. Heidi also will discuss how the 2017 political environment has affected her association's GR program.
Bring your lunch and a drink. This event is FREE.
