China NGO Law Updates: Where Do NGOs Stand Now?

Thursday, February 16, 2017, 8:30 AM - 10:00 AM ET

Join us for a high-level assessment of the current status of China’s recently passed foreign nongovernmental organizations (NGO) law and get a practical overview of the impact on association activities in China.

The Chinese government recently released a number of guiding documents, including a list of “professional supervisory units” that may sponsor foreign NGOs and a catalog of permitted NGO activities. Learn what these documents mean, in practical terms, for associations operating in China or planning to move into the region.

David Livdahl, a partner at Pillsbury Winthrop Shaw Pittman, LLP, and Steven Basart, director, China, for Kellen—both long-term residents of China with in-depth experience consulting and advising associations there—will join live via video-stream from Beijing.

This event is aimed at senior association executives (CEO, VP, general counsel, or director) of global associations with activities in mainland China or with plans to develop such activities.

Continental breakfast will be provided.
