This online session is designed to do three things at once:
- Learn (and share) best practices for online events, conferences, classes and webinars; get practical online networking ideas.
- Experience 4 easy online networking activities to apply to your own events.
- Meet and connect with 4-6 colleagues doing similar work as you.
Fun and participatory, this session is attendee-driven and built on active learning and peer sharing. You’ll be on audio/video as you meet other professionals who are working on virtual conferences, events, and classes. Come with your own ideas – plus your questions and challenges!
This session is designed to demonstrate that you can get groups to connect and network online – and you’ll actually see how it’s done! While much of the transition to online events has focused on content, we’ll concentrate on delivering the connection-building that’s often as valuable at conferences and events.
What this is:
- Peer learning and sharing
- Meeting fellow events/learning pros
- Fun, fast-paced and engaging
- Solving your own challenges
What this is NOT:
- No product demos
- No talking-head experts doing a PowerPoint
- No awkward networking
This is not a networking meet-up. It’s designed specifically to teach professionals how to implement online networking strategies in their own online events.
Want to get comfortable using Zoom before the workshop? Show up at 10:45 for a quick familiarization on how to turn your audio and video on/off, use chat, change your name, switch views, and annotate images.
You'll need a computer with a camera and a microphone. To experience effective online networking, attendees must join with audio and video.
For a better participant experience, join from a computer with a large screen rather than a phone or tablet. (Mobile devices tend to have less functionality and are less well suited to participatory meetings and online networking.)
This online workshop will use the Zoom desktop app.
