About the Session
According to many marketing firms, including Invesp, it can cost as much as five times more to attract a new association member than to keep an existing one. Chances are good that your members join your organization for only one of the value pieces your organization offers--and they may come to value that one offering. But if you can't show the value proposition of your other dynamic and amazing membership offerings during that first year, you may be at a risk of losing that member.
So how do you build loyalty and demonstrate enough value-add to retain existing association members? One way is to draw them in immediately by offering a solid onboarding program showcasing all the amazing benefits that your organization offers.
At the June DC Swap, Dan Ratner, membership strategist at The Next Steps, LLC will discuss the steps to create, implement, evaluate and refine your onboarding program to build affinity with your members and, maybe even hike up your association's member retention rate.
