Association Workforce Study: New Preliminary Results

Associations have a vital role to play in workforce development. The ASAE Foundation is conducting a study to refresh understanding of associations-sponsored workforce development. In particular, this study will investigate ways associations align workforce development programs to employers' and learners' needs and identify opportunities for association-sponsored workforce development and training. Polly Karpowicz, CAE, co-chair of the ASAE Task Force on Workforce Development, will present the preliminary, informal results from the first phase of this multi-year national study of association-sponsored workforce development across industries.

About the Presenter

Polly Karpowicz, MBA, CAE, is a nonprofit consultant and association professional with over 20 years of experience in multiple association management domains. She is currently Senior Director, the Center for Association at Westat, supporting association and nonprofit clients with their research needs. She served in a variety of association staff, management, and senior leadership roles at the American Political Science Association. She served on the ASAE Foundation Research Committee and is co-chair of the ASAE Task Force on Workforce Development. Polly is an active member and volunteer leader of various association and nonprofit organizations, committees, task forces, and working groups related to research, communications, publishing, and technology.
