ASAE Reston Loudoun Idea Swap

When:  Aug 9, 2018 from 3:00 PM to 5:00 PM (ET)

Jeff De Cagna will discuss Artificial Intelligence: What Every Human Being Needs to Know

Artificial intelligence (AI) is reshaping our world, and we are only just beginning to fully appreciate its far-reaching implications for our society and our lives. Notwithstanding the extraordinary hype and even hysteria surrounding AI today, these increasingly powerful technologies raise complex questions about what it means to be human and create new challenges we will all have to navigate in the years ahead. In this talk, we will separate AI fact from fiction, consider AI's unintended consequences and identify critical actions all human beings can take to prepare themselves to thrive in an AI-enabled world.

During this talk, we will consider the following learning questions:

+Why is AI so much more--and less--than the media hype?

+Why are we a greater threat to AI right now than AI is to us?

+What can we do to prepare ourselves for increased adoption of AI?
