When Should Association Volunteer Leaders Step In

  • 1.  When Should Association Volunteer Leaders Step In

    Hi All,

As the owner of a firm that handles a lot of crises for associations and companies, I wanted to get your opinion about something a lot of association executives struggle with.

What we've seen is many associations wait until a crisis hits, before they get their best advocates lined up to help them.

So, when and how should association volunteer leaders step in on the organization's behalf?

    • Should they call the people or person who is leading the negative campaign?
    • How do you get the volunteers to step in when the stakes are high for the organization?
    • Would you recommend the volunteer leaders post to social media to show support?

When we do leadership crisis plans and training we often build this in, but I would love some experience shares.

    Thank you!

    Adele
