Credentialing

  • 1.  Do members value association credentials?

    Posted Apr 16, 2024 11:58 AM

    Greetings!

I am the Head of Membership and Chapters at the Society for Incentive Travel Excellence. We serve the hospitality industry, and we are assessing how our members value association credentials. We've noticed lowered counts for our in-person credential registrations, and would like to know what other associations and industries are experiencing.

    Ultimately, I have three questions:

1.) What industry do you serve?

2.) Do your members value your association's credentials?

3.) How has interest in your association's credentials changed post-pandemic?

    Looking forward to your input!

    Thanks,

    Hi Dallas,

Our organization, Holmes Corporation, works with associations across a variety of industries to help them grow demand for their certification/certificate programs.  We recently published a whitepaper featured in ASAE's newsletter titled "Roadblocks to Certification Growth" which may have some helpful suggestions.  Please feel free to download a free copy at:  https://www.holmescorp.com/hc-why-your-cert-program-is-not-growing-whitepaper/

Hi Dallas. Our credential exam used to be 4 times per year in person only. Pre-pandemic, we moved it to a virtual, proctored format which greatly increased access and interest.

See my post https://collaborate.asaecenter.org/discussion/new-certification-participation-1 for more details about how we've increased awareness and interest.

I'd be happy to answer other questions.
