Don Dea serves as Board Chair, Emeritus, Excelsior University, Board Chair of America’s VetDogs & the GuideDog Foundation, Founder ASAE AAPI Advisory Group, and strategic and business advisor to associations, non-profits, and businesses. Don has served in the private, non-profit, and government sectors. Don has authored several books and articles published by the ASAE Foundation on the Internet, digital transformation, and online education, as well as on technology, healthcare, mobile, digital innovation, association leadership and governance, and digital transformation & innovation.
He co-founded Fusion Productions and co-produced digitalNow, an executive summit for association/non-profit leaders. Dea has served in senior executive roles in global technology, marketing, and real estate, including the Xerox Corp. He is a co-founder of several high-technology companies and construction firms. Dea served as special assistant to the Attorney General, Department of Justice in the President's Executive Exchange Program.
Don previously served as Past Treasurer of America’s VetDogs & the GuideDog Foundation. Past Treasurer Excelsior University. Don served on the board of directors of HIMSS Media. Don serves as board chair, Association for the Blind and Visually Impaired; Served Board of Directors Salvation Army Board; American Society of Association Executives (ASAE) Board; past chair of the Industry Research Advisory Council (ASAE); past-chair Membership Section Council (ASAE); ASAE Executive Management Section Council; and Advisory Board, Educators Serving Educators (Excelsior University). Dea was elected to the American Society of Association Executive Fellows (FASAE). In 2021,Don served as Board-Chair Excelsior University, Chair Emeritus by Proclamation, Don serves on the Board of Directors of SureFire Capital (Private Equity) Don was recognized as ASAE’s Academy of Leaders Award Winner 2021 for serving the Association Profession. Most recently, Don was recognized as the 2022 Alumni Association Community Service Award recipient.
Don completed his MBA from Duke University, Fuqua School of Business; Senior Executive Program, MIT Sloan School of Business; and BA in Economics, McDaniel College.
