Description

Finance and Business Operations Section Council (also includes Human Resources) - Works to support ASAE’s professional interest section for association finance, business operations and human resources professionals by identifying pertinent areas of content related to financial, human resources, and administration/operations management issues.  The group also creates content and works to foster a sense of community within the FBO Section. The group’s work includes brainstorming potential topics and authors for FBO/HR topics for electronic articles and blog posts, peer networking; specialized professional development and two section discussion groups (FBO and HR) in Collaborate, ASAE’s online community.

This group requires two face to face meetings each year, a kickoff meeting on Monday, April 29, 2013, held in conjunction with ASAE’s Finance, HR and Business Operations Conference April 30 - May 1, 2013, and a Winter Meeting in Washington, DC in early 2014. New appointees to the council are required to attend the in-person Kick-Off Meeting for the group on Monday, April 29 in Washington, DC. (Face-to-face meetings are typically one day in length in Washington, DC. Council members are expected to attend these meetings at their own expense.) Also, as the council helps choose the proposals for each FHRBO Conference, council members are strongly encouraged to attend the conference itself, April 30 - May 1.

  Projects for FY 2014 include:

  • Identifying pertinent topic areas of focus for the 2014 Finance, Human Resources & Business Operations Conference and working with ASAE staff to select proposals.
  • Generate topic ideas, identify content authors and create content for ASAE electronic articles and blog posts, as well as for other resources focused on assisting members of the FBO Section.
  • Coordinate members of the FBO section and council to assist ASAE in analyzing and categorizing content using ASAE's new online taxonomy.
