  • 1.  Inclusive language for meeting registrations

    Posted Oct 11, 2024 01:04 PM

I am starting to develop better practices for neurodivergent attendees at our meetings (scientific expert committees in public health, etc.). Our meetings range from 20ish people to 500. I want to begin quickly with easily implemented practices like creating a low sensory room and incorporating more language to communicate our intentions to provide accommodation and support.

Does anyone have any language they use when attendees register to make clear that we are open to addressing neurodiversity needs as well as what we already address about physical space, interpreters, etc.?

Just saw the post on neurodiversity, inclusive language, and creating neuroinclusive events. This is my specialty! I am a neurodiversity speaker, consultant, and coach. I facilitate workshops and webinars on neurodiversity, neuroinclusive language and practices, neurodiversity-affirming practices, disability inclusion, and accessibility. I would love to help any of you create cultures of neuroinclusion where all minds and bodies can thrive at work.
