Since our program soft launch, we've been working to promote the value of certification to our field of student affairs professionals in higher education. Despite multiple market analyses being conducted supporting certification prior to launch, we continue to hear (mainly on social media) misinformation that certification exists as a "money grab." I'm seeking to be transparent in educating my field about the reasons related to certification program costs (e.g. significant program start up costs, exams, ongoing analysis, operations, staffing, marketing, certificant recognition, etc.) I'm wondering if any data sets exist about costs of certification on a wider scale (e.g., nation-wide, per industry) as this could be useful information to include in our messaging. Does anyone know of related resources?
