The Marketing Section Council is a group of thought leaders in association marketing who in concert with staff assists in the implementation of ASAE’s work plan as well as guides and recommends activities for ASAE’s professional interest section for marketing professionals

This group has two face to face meetings each year beginning with a mandatory kickoff meeting on Wednesday, June 15, 2016 at 10:00 am Eastern Time at ASAE, 1575 I Street NW, Washington, DC, which is conjunction with the Marketing, Membership & Communications Conference. New volunteers are required to attend the kickoff meeting in Washington, DC in order to serve. There is no virtual option for this meeting.

Projects for FY17 include:

  • Assist ASAE staff in the selection of topics and learning labs for the annual Marketing, Membership, and Communications Conference.
  • Participate in the planning of ASAE’s activities by assisting in identifying ideas for ASAE’s opportunities as well as future ASAE work plan elements.
  • Assist the Gold Circle Awards competition by promoting and serving as award judges.
  • Suggest topics, authors, and submits articles on issues relevant in the marketing profession to be disseminated to ASAE’s membership.
  • Each council member is expected to participate on a subcommittee or task force.

Travel is required to participate on this Council.

Who pays my expenses?

Council members (or their organizations) pay their own travel expenses to attend meetings.   ASAE does not reimburse Board, Committee, or Council members for travel.
