Description:

The ASAE Professional Development Professionals Advisory Council (PDPAC) exists to help ASAE best serve members of the Professional Development Professionals Community. We seek to disseminate resources through ASAE that advance member knowledge, competency and professionalism through samples/models, learning/editorial content, networking and community engagement. We serve in an advisory capacity to ASAE on programs, products and services for association learning professionals and regarding needs, issues and trends in education, knowledge management and credentialing.

Kick off Meeting Information:
Any other important information for the applicant- Physical attendance at the kickoff meeting is mandatory for all new members of the PD Professionals Advisory Council. 
Date/Time of Kick Off Meeting – February 29, 2020. Full-Day: 9:30 am – 3:00 pm
 Location of Kick-off Meeting –  Great Ideas Conference in Salt Lake, Utah

Committee Work:
The Professional Development Section Council is divided into subcommittees that complete work on behalf of the group. These groups are subject to change yearly based on the need from ASAE or the focus of the council.
  1. The Professional Development (PD) Professionals Advisory Council will plan, moderate and promote member-to-member discussions and editorial content on topics relevant to PD association professionals.
  2. Engage ASAE Professional Development (PD) members through Collaborate and other appropriate avenues.
  3. Build a more expansive understanding of key professional development and learning challenges, issues and trends in association management to inform council activities by helping ASAE provide resources for gaps in the field.
  4. Support ASAE learning, research, and other initiatives to promote the importance of professional development and career support through ASAE to current/future PD members in an advisory capacity by serving on ad hoc advisory committees, promoting, submitting and reviewing conference proposals and acting as ambassadors for conferences and programs.
Applicant Requirements (all things a member must be available to do for this opportunity) –Council members are expected to attend all council meetings including a mid-term in person meeting scheduled in the fall of 2020, actively participate in at least one subgroup, provide thoughtful input and deliberations, represent the voice of the professional development association professionals.

Industry Experience-  At least 5 + years of association experience or adult learning
Council members must be a member of ASAE in good standing.
