The Small-Staff Association Committee (SSAC) advocates for associations with 9 or fewer staff (regardless of budget size).
Meeting Requirements
This group requires two face to face meetings each year and new members are required to attend an orientation call prior to the start of the term.
- Kick-off Meeting- Saturday, August 18, 2018, in conjunction with ASAE Annual Meeting in Chicago Illinois. This meeting is mandatory for new volunteers.
- The second meeting is traditionally at ASAE headquarters in Washington DC in March
- Conference calls are regularly scheduled throughout the term
*Projects for the 2018-2019 year:
- Recommends and advises ASAE on ways to improve programs and services for small-staff association members;
- Advises ASAE University staff on the content of and thought leaders for online seminars and other learning opportunities targeted for staff of small-staff associations;
- Advises on “best practices” for small-staff associations through a variety of online documents and ASAE communication vehicles (e.g. Associations Now, models & samples library, Collaborate, etc.);
- Serves as an advocate for implementing key ASAE strategic goals designated for the small-staff association community, including promoting the small-staff organization membership;
*Eligibility Requirements:
- Members should have experience in working in a small staff association
- This committee is looking for strategic thinkers and individuals who like to “get things done.”
*When filling out the application, applicants are encouraged to speak directly to how they meet the eligibility requirements and how they can contribute to the 2018-2019 projects of the group
Disclaimer:
- New volunteers are required to attend the volunteer group’s kickoff meeting in order to serve. There is no virtual option for this meeting.
- Council members (or their organizations) pay their own travel expenses to attend meetings. ASAE does not reimburse Board, Committee, or Council members for travel.
- Members can only serve 1 (one) volunteer group (council or committee) at a time.
