Description: To help create an exceptional learning experience for our fall conference Associations @ Work, ASAE Learning is seeking your knowledge and expertise to help select the best content for the new 2017 Associations @ Work Conference being held October 15 – 17 at the Marriott at Camden Yards in Baltimore, MD.  This conference is focused association business administration, including finance, operations, human resources and other association management topics/issues.  A micro-volunteer opportunity, you will read and rank session proposals aligned with your area(s) of expertise helping ASAE develop an education program that has diversification of topics, and meets the needs of our target audience.

 

Work for 2017 includes:

Depending on the number of proposals assigned, the time commitment is 2 - 4 hours.

  • Familiarize yourself with all sections of the Call for Proposals.
  • Pre-read all assigned proposals
  • Anonymously rate each proposal based on stated criteria using the online rating form
  • Provide open-ended constructive feedback as appropriate.

  Timeline for Planning Purposes

  • Applications for this opportunity due before: Wednesday, April 5
  • Receive all proposals to review: Tuesday, April 11
  • All ratings/comments due before: Sunday, April 23

Experience Required: Minimum of 5 years of experience working in or for associations with expertise in 1 or more of the following areas:

Finance/Accounting
Operations/Planning
Human Resources/Talent Management 
Fundraising/Development
Association Governance
Organizational Leadership
Legal and Compliance
Technology/Infrastructure
Risk Management/Security
Research/Bench marking

Additional Information

ASAE is seeking conference proposals within the functional areas of association business administration and finance, with instruction at the foundational, applied, and strategic knowledge levels that reflect the best thinking in the field, informed by theory, research, and practice. 

 

Reviewer Criteria:

  • Content leaders’ names will not be visible during the online ratings process, however peer reviewers agree to abstain from reviewing any proposal they submitted or for which they have a conflict of interest.
  • Peer reviewers must maintain current membership in ASAE during the volunteer term.
  • Peer reviewers agree to abide by ASAE guidelines (confidentiality, unbiased opinions, etc.), rating criteria and review timeline.

 

Rating Criteria:

  1. Originality: At the ASAE Associations @ Work Meeting it is essential that we continue to present unique and exciting programs that reflect our dynamic community.
  2. Relevance: ASAE seeks sessions that are of great interest to prospective attendees and clearly benefit the professional needs of the designated audience.
  3. Program Design: ASAE seeks session that incorporate good practices for adult education, with clear learning objectives that are measurable and achievable.
  4. Ability to Inspire Action: ASAE seeks content leaders who will inspire our audience to return to their own organizations after ASAE Associations @ Work and implement what they learned.
  5. Overall Quality: ASAE is dedicated to ensuring that the learning programs at ASAE Associations @ Work Meeting meet the highest standards of excellence.
