It may be legal, but is it ethical? An introduction to association lobbying and ethics

When:  Apr 28, 2020 from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM (ET)

Recent controversies in Washington, DC and beyond have highlighted the importance of ethics to the work of association government relations and advocacy professionals. With thousands of associations working to influence public policy and drive change at the state, local, and national level, it is critical that associations and those who represent them carry out their advocacy work ethically, transparently, and in accordance with all applicable laws and regulations.

To explore this important topic further, please join the ASAE Government Relations and Advocacy Professionals Advisory Council and the National Institute for Lobbying and Ethics (NILE) on Tuesday, April 28, 2020 at 12:00 PM EST for a webinar on ethics for association government relations and advocacy professionals. During this session, Tom Susman from the American Bar Association will explore real-life case studies of unethical lobbying behavior, review the ‘rules of the road’ for association government relations and advocacy professionals, and lead a discussion of best practices for avoiding ethical challenges in association lobbying.

Live attendees will receive 1 CAE credit.
