Solving with ACE: A Design Thinking Experience

When:  May 21, 2019 from 03:00 PM to 05:00 PM (ET)

SOLVERS WANTED!

Our hypothesis: Solving Tough Problems = Design Thinking + Co-creation.

We're testing a new idea with a small group of persistent, solutions-driven association professionals. Want in?

Register here to join the kickoff on TUE, MAY 21, 3 – 5 PM EASTERN

Design thinking is a powerful process for problem solving, and has tremendous potential for associations. And because many of us struggle with the same challenges  — and know the power of collaboration — we have the opportunity to direct our creative energy to collectively problem solve. That is why we’re coming together on May 21.

First, Arianna Rehak will interview Garth Jordan on the stages of design thinking, and how he has applied this process to tackle various “wicked problems” at his association, HFMA.

And then we get to apply what we learn right away. Garth and Arianna will help us begin the design thinking process as a team. We get to discuss our experiences through the design thinking lens and zero in on a specific challenge we can collectively tackle over the coming months.

Garth Jordan is senior vice president, corporate strategy at the Healthcare Financial Management Association. He aligns people around the goal of value creation and employs a variety of human-centered, learn-by-doing, team-based approaches to maintain organizational speed and flexibility.

Arianna Rehak is CEO and co-founder of Matchbox Virtual Media. She is absolutely obsessed with the power of connecting people and ideas for the betterment of all. Her passion for community problem-solving and co-creation has heavily made its way into the design of her virtual events (like SURGE)!

This conversation is organized by ACE (Associations Catalyzing Entrepreneurship), a cross-functional group of association executives with a passion for thinking entrepreneurially. We look for innovators and disruptors — from within and outside the association world — who can help us look at association challenges through an entrepreneurial lens.
