Maximize Your Advocacy Efforts by Aligning your Policy Positions and PAC Giving

What happens when your association is ready take a very public position on a key issue, be it immigration, gun control or gender equality? Are you prepared to be in the spotlight when you do? If you move forward, before you know it, everything about your organization will be under intense scrutiny -- from your membership, your positions on other important issues to your political action committees giving. Are you supporting candidates whose platforms align with your association’s values?  How will this affect your overall advocacy efforts? 

You will learn about the research findings of Dr. Jeremiah Schuur, Chair, Emergency Medicine, Brown University's Warren Alpert Medical School who will share his research findings.  He will be joined by a panel of association executive and government relations professionals for a discussion on the latest trends in PAC giving and advocacy. 

Dr Schuur co-led the research on contribution patterns of physician organization–affiliated PACs and their inconsistency with policy recommendations for evidence-based firearm regulation.
