Tell Congress to Amend the Federal Travel Restrictions

Please let your Congressman know that you object to their recent decision to severely limit federal employees from attending association meetings. We collectively need information from one another in order to make effective policy decisions. Without effective dialogue we are all in trouble. Help us help you...

Share your ideas with ASAE Chairman Peter O’Neil.

Chairman O’Neil developed some questions around key themes for the Great Ideas Conference. ASAE encourages all members to participate in this discussion.

O’Neil and ASAE Hit It Out of the Park

On March 19, APAC held a reception to honor Peter J. O’Neil, FASAE, CAE for his service, and it was the largest event in its history with more than 120 people in attendance. Peter was recognized for his service as Chair of the ASAE Board of Directors and as past co-chair of the GW Network Leadership Council, and a member of the CAE Action Team, as well as for being a long-time donor to APAC. This year, Peter and ASAE reached out and encouraged young professionals and DELP members to attend the APAC reception as an opportunity to network with their peers and gain a better understanding of the value of advocating for the association community.

Seeking Volunteers

To better serve its members, ASAE will begin to list all of its volunteer opportunities under the Volunteer! tab in Collaborate. Interested in serving on a council or committee? Maybe you’d like to participate in a short project or serve on a volunteer group that doesn’t require. Go check out what’s available. Set an alert to keep informed on new opportunities. More and more opportunities will be listed in the coming weeks

Welcome to Collaborate!

Welcome everyone to Collaborate, ASAE’s private social network. As of today, all conversations that took place on the ASAE listserves have moved to Collaborate We encourage you to take advantage of the additional features now available. With this new platform we hope you’ll see even richer conversations, build stronger relationships and more community within ASAE. We are working on an online tutorial and should be done with that in the next couple of weeks. Now that we are all here, we will take Collaborate out of beta mode.

So again welcome to the new format! Let the discussions begin!!

Community Etiquette

Hi Folks. Just a friendly reminder that the guidelines for participating in Collaborate are the same as they are for all of our online communities. The short list is treat everyone with respect as you engage, don't post commercial messages or advertising (this includes job openings), and no bad language.

Feedback?

We'd love to hear from you about the Collaborate site, what's working, what's not, etc. Click on 'Feedback' below and join the Feedback community. Thanks

Welcome to Collaborate, your new private social network!

The Higher Logic platform allows members to easily interact and communicate online, empowering volunteer groups and special interest sections to work more effectively. Groups may also form around topical areas and shared interests, spawning knowledge communities. Social tools such as commenting capabilities and ranking stats will ensure quick and easy access to the most relevant/popular information.

You asked. We delivered. Your online association community continues to grow every day, with new groups forming week in and week out. And we’ve updated the platform to ensure you can access the content, groups, members, and discussions that interest you most—quickly and easily.

Here’s a quick overview of some of the features:

• Enhanced email capabilities. Now you’ll receive emails that are more structured and easier to read.

• Faster Search results – within the new platform, your member search is faster than ever.

• Creation of networks – Auto creation of network based on certain profile demographics.

• Signing up for all your Member alerts in one area --previously, you had to go to every single group in which you were a member to get alert notifications. No more!

• Prefer to get everything via RSS feed? Now you can select any or all the communities in which you are a member, and they’ll be aggregated into a single feed!

• Like a document that you read? You can add it to your favorites for quick and easy access in the future.

We plan to take the site out of beta mode post Annual Meeting and also add mobile capability. Collaborate will continually evolve to meet your needs and those of our ever-growing online community.

Welcome to our new community site!
